August 24th, 2008
Generally speaking Chinese food is normally fairly balanced meals. This is because they usually include noodles or rice that provides carbohydrates, while the vegetables provide good sources of quality fibers and Vitamin and C. Tofu is also a good source of high-protein, low-fat and cholesterol free ingredients. The preparation of Chinese food greatly affects the levels of fat to be gained from eating it. One common issue is that fact that many Chinese meals are made though a deep frying process. Persons that are sodium-sensitive , it important to check if the restaurant uses MSG (Monosodium glutamate). For such a person they may want to ask for light soy sauce. Another alternative to soy sauce is sweet-and-sour plum sauce as well as duck sauce as these alternative have lower levels of sodium.

Weight Loss - Watching your calories, fat and carbohydrates.
August 19th, 2008
Your body burns carbohydrates for energy before it starts to burn fat. As a result of this, it is recommended that you eat more carbohydrates instead of more dietary fat. The consummation of excess fat leads to the build up of the adipose tissues (fat cells) that eventually amount to more pounds on your body. One gram of fat contains nine calories, while one gram of carbohydrates or protein contains only four calories. The reason most people gain weight is because they consume more dietary fat than their body can burn for energy. If you want to lose those extra pounds you have to cut the excess dietary fat out of your diet.
